- 1947 - St. Charles Borromeo Parish was organized under the direction of Fr. Maurice F. Wogan. The parish was named in honor of Bishop Charles LeBlond.
- 1949 - The first floor of the church was renovated into three classrooms. Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth opened the school with 45 students enrolled in six grades.
- 1951 – Enrollment reached 120 students
- 1953 – A new school building was dedicated.
- 1958 - A junior high wing with six classrooms was added to the school.
- 1963 - A second floor was added to the school and a prefabricated structure was to provide for an additional classroom.
- 1964-1965 - Enrollment reached an all-time high of 960 students. Classrooms were created in the basement of the church to ease overcrowding.
- 1977 - Kindergarten with half-day sessions was established.
- 1978-2008 - Enrollment remained steady with an average of 450 kindergarten-eighth grade students.
- 2009-2016 - A combination of factors effectively caused a near seventy percent drop in enrollment.
- 2014 – School Maintenance Upgrade Campaign began to improve the school facilities and attract more students.
- 2016 – The addition of air conditioning and new windows proved unsuccessful in raising enrollment and the parish announced the possible closure of the school in late April.
- 2016 – Parishioners rallied, and an anonymous donor came forward to save the school from closure. Father Donald P. Farnan became pastor at St. Charles Borromeo Parish. In November St. Charles embarked upon a three-year revitalization campaign to assure sustainability for the future.
- 2017 - St. Charles announces the rebirth of the school and an intense facility beautification project was underway. The school's guest lobby and entry hall were remodeled. An art display wall was built, and new flooring was installed. Additional projects included a new principal's office, conference room, and east wing school windows.
- On May 24, 2017, St. Charles Catholic School closed its doors on the last day of the 2016-2017 school year with plans to reopen under the new name of Saint Charles Borromeo Academy, a Catholic, classical, diocesan school, with the first classes beginning in the fall of 2017. In addition to the new name and curriculum, new uniform plaid was selected, and a custom crest was designed by Faith in Marketing.
